ONTARIO HONDA DEALERS RAISE $75,000 FOR MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION

Racing fans help Honda Canada raise more than $75,000 for
Make-A-Wish Canada® through fundraising initiatives at Honda Indy Toronto
TORONTO (July 11, 2011) - After many exciting fundraising initiatives on and off the track, the
Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA) and Honda Canada Inc. announce that, together with
generous racing fans, more than $75,000 was raised for Make-A-Wish Canada. This year's fundraising
activities included OHDA's Free Friday, Pit Stop Challenges, Paul Tracy's suit-signing and more. This
is the second year Honda Canada and Paul Tracy have worked together in support of Make-A-Wish
Canada.
"We are so thankful to have corporations like Honda support our commitment to give hope to children
with life-threatening medical conditions through the granting of magical wishes," said Jennifer Ritter,
Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish Canada. "Events like the Honda Indy, and people like Paul Tracy
and the folks at Honda Canada and OHDA, really help us generate the awareness and funds we need to
fulfill our mission."
Visitors to the Honda Indy Toronto and various race week events were invited to offer a donation in
exchange for interactive activities that included racing simulators, tire-change challenges and pitching
cages. For a donation, racing fans were also invited to sign Paul Tracy's race suit worn during Sunday's
Honda Indy Toronto race. The highlight of the fundraising activities was the OHDA's second annual
"Free Friday" at the track, which invited fans to make a donation and attend Friday's practice and
qualifying sessions.
"For the second straight year, we are thrilled that Free Friday was such a success," said Brian Tafler,
President, Ontario Honda Dealers Association. "We're proud to cover the costs of admission for race fans
on Friday in hopes of receiving donations to Make-a-Wish Canada. They definitely answered the call."
"Racing is in our DNA at Honda, and so is our belief in the power of dreams," said Jean-Marc Leclerc,
Assistant Vice President of Marketing, Honda Canada. "This donation will help make dreams come true
for numerous children facing life-threatening challenges and that's a cause we truly believe in and are
proud to stand behind. We'd also like to thank all the generous racing fans for their strong support and
enthusiasm throughout another great Honda Indy Toronto."

HONDA TO INTRODUCE A REDESIGNED 2012 HONDA CR-V THIS FALL

Our friends over at Car and Driver heard it directly from the horse's mouth that the Japanese automaker is currently prepping the successful CR-V for launch this fall as a 2012 model.

The news isn't surprising in itself, as Honda is in the habit of redesigning its models every five years or so, and the little SUV is nearing its expiry date.

Judging by the work accomplished with the Civic, we can mostly expect minor aesthetic changes both inside and out, as well as a few tweaks to the new engine to improve fuel economy.

If our predictions are correct, the same four-cylinder mill and five-speed transmission should be back.

In 2010, a total of 24,930 CR-Vs were sold in Canada, 34% more than the previous year.

2011 HONDA ODYSSEY PRICING ANNOUNCED IN CANADA!
2011 HONDA ODYSSEY PRICING ANNOUNCED IN CANADA!

Toronto - The all-new 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan is set to debut at dealers on October 22 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) ranging from $29,990 for the well-equipped Odyssey LX to $46,990 for the premium Odyssey Touring.

The completely redesigned Odyssey improves for 2011 with greater interior functionality, a more distinctive style and improved fuel economy. Across all available models - the Odyssey LX, EX, EX-RES, EX-L and the fully-equipped Touring - more than 50 standard and available features have been added to enhance comfort, convenience, class-leading fuel efficiency and travel fun.

"The all-new Odyssey is set to once again redefine the minivan segment as the benchmark of minivans," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "Never before has so much space, functionality and comfort been combined with this much style, safety, advanced technology and fuel economy all in a fun-to-drive package."

With an MSRP of $29,990, the new entry-level Odyssey LX includes a surprising range of features with even more content than the current entry-level trim. "This is a dramatic value improvement for Canadian consumers," said Chenkin. Standard features on the LX include 8-way power driver seat, privacy tinted glass, battery management system, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability assist with traction control, remote entry system, and Variable Cylinder Management for improved fuel economy.

Significant improvements for convenience include a new "3-mode" second-row seat design that expands laterally, along with a simpler-to-operate, one-motion, 60/40 split 3rd-row Magic Seat(R). The "3-mode" second row is designed to better accommodate three passengers with improved comfort, and the new "wide mode" supports third-row pass-through access from the side with as many as two child seats in place in the second row. The third row provides improved legroom, along with better sight lines out of the side windows, which is a functional improvement resulting from the exterior's signature "lightning-bolt" belt line.

THE ALL NEW HONDA CR-Z HAS NOW ARRIVED!!

The all-new 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid coupe is the answer you've been looking for: a cool, pulse-quickening hybrid coupe that's both fun to drive and easy on the eyes.

Just one look and you'll see that the CR-Z's distinctive profile embodies bold, athletic styling and modern elegance. Its low-slung hood, broad forward stance, sleek lines and aggressive front grille all conspire to turn heads. It looks like no other car on the road.

Once inside, you'll fall for the CR-Z's upscale, sporty interior, appointed with ergonomically intuitive controls. Its high-tech gauge cluster illuminates with a three-dimensional vibrant blue hue that's sure to attract your attention right when you need it.

The passenger side offers an open, comfortable space. Heavily bolstered seats with premium sport-oriented cloth are designed to provide excellent lateral support, ensuring you're poised for a spirited ride. A mid-ship console behind the front seats optimizes cargo space, and a hard-shell separator can be closed to create additional hidden storage.

The CR-Z is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC® engine with Honda's compact and lightweight Integrated Motor Assist(tm) (IMA®) hybrid-electric system. But the choice is all yours in how you want this coupe to roll, thanks to a new three-mode drive system that allows you to select between Sport, Econ (Economy) and Normal driving modes. Each delivers a different driving characteristic, depending on the driving conditions you're in.

In "Sport" mode, the CR-Z's responsive 122 horses and 128 lb.-ft. of torque can truly be pushed on winding country roads. Its standard 6-speed manual transmission seamlessly downshifts as you take flat corners, and the MacPherson strut front suspension is tuned to deliver solid and dynamic handling for pure driving pleasure.

In "Econ" mode, the engine's responsiveness is tuned for optimal economy. The electric motor assist gives priority to fuel efficiency, and the air conditioning system reduces its overall load on the engine. Perfect for stop-and-go city driving.

"Normal" mode provides standard settings for steering, engine response, motor assist and air conditioning. Want to be a more environmentally friendly driver? The CR-Z offers an Eco Guide and an Eco scoring system to help you track and improve your driving performance over time.

The CR-Z sport hybrid coupe is engineered for responsible performance. It produces even fewer emissions than are regulated by government standards, emitting 89% fewer volatile organic compounds, 71% less nitrous oxide, 50% less carbon monoxide and 78% less formaldehyde than most new cars.* Now you don't have to abandon your passions to satisfy your conscience.

The CR-Z is well equipped at its starting price, too, with a host of standard features such as Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®), a 360-watt AM/FM/CD/USB Premium audio system with 7 speakers including subwoofer, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink(tm) interface, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote entry, cruise control, available High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with auto-on/off fog lights, perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel, 16" aluminum-alloy wheels and more. Enough said? We think so.

The all-new Honda CR-Z is at the forefront of new thinking - the right combination of pure driving pleasure and responsible performance.

CHANGES TO THE 2011 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN AND COUPE

Set to go on sale in October, the 2011 Honda Accord Sedan and Coupe receive significant updates, including improved fuel economy, enhanced exterior and interior styling, and the addition of a new Special Edition (SE) trim level.

Available as either a sedan or a coupe in 4-cylinder and V-6 variations, the Accord is designed to offer a balance of performance, efficiency and value specific to each individual model.

Improvements to vehicle aerodynamics, engine friction and transmission gear ratios all contribute to fuel economy improvements. The estimated fuel-economy ratings for Accord 4-cylinder sedan models equipped with an automatic transmission improve to 8.8/5.8 city/highway L/100Km (7% better city and 11% better highway than the comparable 2010 model).

The 2011 Accord Sedan's exterior is designed to express a more upscale and powerful presence with new styling for the front grille, front bumper and rear deck lid, along with a new wheel design.

Building on the sedan's design character, the Accord Coupe's unique muscular stance is enhanced with a bolder front grille design, new front bumper shape, enhanced brakelight appearance and a new wheel design for V-6 models.

A special edition "SE" model replaces the current base "LX" model, and adds valuable standard features such as 8-way power driver seat and power lumbar support, alloy wheels, premium audio with a subwoofer and XM satellite radio, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®, automatic headlights, security system and more. (These standard features carry through to all other models in the Accord lineup.)

New features on certain other models include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on the Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe, and a USB Audio Interface on all Accord EX models and above. Accord sedans add a rearview camera on models equipped with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with bilingual voice recognition.

Additionally, Accord 4-cylinder EX-L models are now equipped with a power passenger seat, and Navi models receive a two-position memory system for the driver's seat. Additional interior updates on all models include new seat fabrics on models with cloth seats, an updated instrument panel design and refined accent points throughout the interior.

Interior styling on all models provides "attainable luxury" with generous standard equipment, top-of-class ergonomics and intuitive vehicle controls. The front seats are designed to provide generous lateral support. The fold-down, rear seatback offers cargo-carrying versatility and also includes a lockable pass-through for long items such as skis.

New for 2011, the most frequently used climate-control buttons are now positioned on the left side of the control stack, closer to the driver for ease-of-use, and less-frequently used buttons are now positioned on the right side. Vehicle clock adjustment is also made easier by more prominent control lettering.

A 190-horsepower, 2.4-litre, 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine is standard in the Accord EX and EX-L Sedans, and the 2.4-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine in the Accord SE Sedan produces 177 horsepower.

The available 3.5-litre, 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 engine produces 271-horsepower and optimizes fuel economy with Variable Cylinder Management(tm) (VCM®) technology that can deactivate up to half of the cylinders while cruising to improve fuel economy.

The performance-oriented Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe with the 6-speed manual transmission has a unique 3.5-litre V-6 VTEC engine (without VCM) that provides a performance-tuned valvetrain, intake and exhaust system to broaden the torque curve in the low- to mid-rpm range for enthusiast-level performance.

A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on 4-cylinder models and a 5-speed automatic is available. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on V-6-powered models. A 6-speed manual transmission is available exclusively on the Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe.

For safety, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering(tm) (ACE®) is an exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal crashes. The ACE(tm) design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment.

The double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension inspire confident handling performance while also providing a comfortable ride. The 2011 Accord Sedan comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels or 17-inch alloy wheels depending on the model.

A premium 270-watt audio system is standard on all Accord models and includes a six-disc CD changer and seven speakers including an 8-inch subwoofer. XM Radio® is standard equipment. A USB multimedia interface and a six-disc CD changer are standard on EX models and above.

The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System (available on Accord EX-L) uses an 8-inch screen and an interface dial for user input. Features include the Zagat Survey® guide for restaurants, nightlife, hotels and attractions. All Accord models include Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® as standard equipment for connecting wirelessly with compatible mobile phones.

The Accord Coupe (4-cylinder) has 17-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment, with 18-inch alloys standard on the Accord V-6 Coupe. All Accords feature four-wheel disc brakes.

All Accords sold in Canada are produced in North America at Honda of America Manufacturing Inc.'s Marysville Auto Plant in Marysville, Ohio. The Marysville plant is the sole global source of the Accord Coupe.

HONDA CANADA RAISES MORE THAN $112,000 FOR MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION THROUGH FUND RAISING AT HONDA INDY

EDMONTON (July 27, 2010) - After two exciting weeks of fundraising initiatives on and off the track in both Toronto and Edmonton, Honda Canada Inc. announced that, together with generous race fans, they raised $112,578 in support of Make-A-Wish® Canada. Honda Canada donated its sponsorship signage to Make-A-Wish Canada for Canadian IndyCar driver Paul Tracy's race suit, pit signage and KV Racing Technology's Number 15 Make-A-Wish Canada / KV Racing Technology / Honda / Dallara / Firestone race.car.

Commenting on the fundraising initiative, Jennifer Ritter, CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Canada, said, "We are extremely pleased with the generous support of Honda Canada, the other Paul Tracy sponsors and Canadian race fans in Toronto and Edmonton. Through the sponsorship opportunity with Paul Tracy, we have been able to promote awareness of our vital mission and to continue to fulfill the dreams of our courageous 'wish children' across Canada.

"Make-A-Wish exists for one reason only - to grant wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. We impact our wish families' lives at a time when they need to know that their community cares about what they are going through, as their child battles for his or her life.

"To a child living with a life-threatening medical condition, a wish is more than a desire - it is an experience that can create a life-changing impact, not only for the wish child and their family, but for other families, friends, volunteers, donors and entire communities. We believe that Make-A-Wish, through our mission, volunteers and supporters, is helping to nurture a kind and caring Canada."

Visitors to the Honda Indy Toronto and Honda Indy Edmonton were invited to offer a donation in exchange for programming and interactive activities that included racing simulators at the Honda World exhibit as well as tire change pit stop challenges and other activities. For a donation, racing fans were also invited to sign Paul Tracy's race suit that was worn the Honda Indy Toronto and Honda Indy Edmonton races.

The highlight of fundraising activities at the Honda Indy Toronto was "Free Friday" at the track sponsored by the Ontario Honda Dealers Association, a first for the event, in which fans were invited to attend Friday practice and qualifying sessions at no charge.

In addition to the funds raised by race fans that were matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada, half of the sponsorship fees of other Paul Tracy sponsors - Motegi Wheels, PHD, The Taylor Group and Grip Limited - were donated to Make-A-Wish® Canada, bringing the two-week total to more than $112,000.

HONDA'S ALL NEW 2010 INSIGHT IS HERE
HONDA'S ALL NEW 2010 INSIGHT IS HERE

Honda was the first automaker to put a hybrid on the road with the original Insight in December 1999 and it wants to reclaim its place at the big kid's table with the resurrection of the name on an all-new hybrid.

The automaker formally unveiled the five-door hatch at the 2008 Paris auto show. The same car will first appear in the U.S. at this fall's Los Angeles Auto Show, with the production model to debut at the North American International Auto Show in January.

The Insight rides on an all-new platform as a bespoke hybrid, as opposed to offering a hybrid version of an existing vehicle as is the case with the current Honda Civic hybrid and the Honda Fit hybrid planned by 2015.

The Insight will be smaller than a Civic and CEO Takeo Fukui says it will be priced significantly below current hybrids. We expect it to start at about $19,000, which will make it the least expensive hybrid on the market. "This new Insight will break new ground as an affordable hybrid within the reach of customers who want great fuel economy and great value," Fukui says in a statement.

The on-sale date for the Insight is April 22--Earth Day--and the automaker is projecting global annual sales of 200,000, half of which are for the North American market. But Honda is known for erring on the conservative side, and given that it will go head-to-head with the Toyota Prius, which has sold almost 120,000 in the first eight months of this year in the U.S. alone, we would not be surprised to see Honda exceed these modest forecasts.

In looks, the new hatch bears a familial resemblance to Honda's other poster car for alternative fuels--the FCX Clarity fuel-cell vehicle, but the Insight also shares an aerodynamically raked front, stubby tail, and an overall profile with the Prius. Both offer five-passenger seating and plenty of cargo space inside a relatively small body. The Insight's folding rear seats further accentuate the cargo hold.

In terms of propulsion, the Insight gets a smaller, lighter--and less-expensive--version of Honda's Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system that is in the Civic. The smaller pack of nickel-metal-hydride batteries is stored under the trunk floor. Honda says lithium-ion batteries aren't yet a viable option.

Official fuel-economy ratings haven't yet been released, but Honda officials have suggested that the fuel economy would be about the same as that of the current Civic hybrid, which is 40 mpg in the city and 45 on the highway

The Insight will be built on a new assembly line at Honda's Suzuka, Japan, plant, which currently builds the Civic hybrid. It is the first of a hybrid onslaught that also calls for production of the CR-Z hybrid sports car concept shown at the 2007 Tokyo auto show, a new Honda Civic hybrid, and the addition of the Fit hybrid--all by 2015, at which point the automaker's goal is to be selling half a million hybrids per year globally.

HONDA CR-Z MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT TOKYO MOTOR SHOW
HONDA CR-Z MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT TOKYO MOTOR SHOW

TOKYO, October 21, 2009 - Honda today debuted the much-anticipated CR-Z Concept 2009, the second concept version of the stylish, sporty hybrid coupe, at the 41st Tokyo Motor Show. While the vehicle displayed at the show is a global concept with a rear seat, the production version that will be introduced to Canada and the U.S. in the second half of 2010 will be packaged as a sporty, 2-seat hybrid that provides a personal driving experience for North American customers.
"The new Honda CR-Z will expand our lineup of hybrid vehicles and reinforce the fun-to-drive values associated with the Honda brand," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "Beyond dynamic styling and features, the CR-Z will bring new levels of engagement and fun to Canadians who are interested in a small car or a hybrid vehicle."
CR-Z will join the Insight and Civic Hybrid in the Honda hybrid lineup, each offering distinct benefits. Civic Hybrid, launched in 2003, was Honda's first mainstream model to feature hybrid power. The 2010 Insight, introduced in March 2009, ushered in a new era of affordability for a hybrid family sedan. The CR-Z is designed to break new ground as a sporty, hybrid coupe with unique value.
The production version of the Honda CR-Z will make its world debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this coming January.

HONDA CANADA NAMED ONE OF CANADA'S 'FIFTY MOST SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE CORPORATIONS'

Honda Canada Inc. has been named one of Canada's "Fifty Most Socially Responsible Corporations" in the Jantzi-Maclean's 2009 Corporate Responsibility Report. The report appeared in a recent issue of Maclean's magazine.
Jantzi Research Associates - an independent investment research firm -evaluates and monitors the social, environmental and governance performance of approximately 300 Canadian companies and income trusts. Jantzi uses a best-of-sector methodology to assess all constituents of the S&P/TSX Composite Index rather than excluding industries, and measures each firm against the standard of best practices in its industry.
According to Jantzi, the Fifty Most Socially Responsible Corporations are "selected on the basis of a broad range of social, environmental and governance indicators... [and] these companies are making Canada a better place."
The Maclean's brief highlights Honda's 2010 Insight hybrid passenger car as being "the most affordable hybrid currently available in North America," and gives prominence to Honda's FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell vehicle which was awarded the "2009 World Green Car" award.
Other initiatives featured in the brief include Honda's new "Eco-Assist" system in the Honda Insight, which is designed to help drivers optimize fuel efficiency; and Japan-based Honda Soltec Co. Ltd, a Honda subsidiary which is developing its own line of ultra-thin, non-silicone solar cells for home and vehicle use.
Honda is recognized for being an environmental leader among automotive manufacturers worldwide. In 1972, the Honda Civic CVCC engine was the world's first engine to comply with strict 1970 U.S. Clean Air Act emissions standard. Today, Honda is one of North America's most fuel-efficient car companies and a global leader in advanced fuel-cell technology.
Now in its 40th years of operations in Canada, Honda Canada Inc. has sold more than 3,200,000 Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks. Nearly half of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in 2008 were made in Canada - a higher percentage than any other vehicle manufacturer in Canada.
Honda Canada makes the Honda Civic and the Acura MDX and CSX at its two manufacturing plants in Alliston, Ontario, and produces fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines at its engine plant, adjacent to its two plants.

HONDA FC SPORT CONCEPT CAR TO MAKE CANADIAN DEBUT
HONDA FC SPORT CONCEPT CAR TO MAKE CANADIAN DEBUT

The Honda FC Sport design study model, a hydrogen-powered, three-seat sports car concept, will make its Canadian debut on February 11 to members of the press at the press preview of the 2009 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto which opens to the public on Friday, February 13.

The FC Sport emphasizes the design flexibility and potential of Honda's V Flow fuel cell technology - already deployed in the Honda FCX Clarity sedan - and reconfigures it into a lightweight sports car design with an ultra-low center of gravity, powerful electric motor performance and zero-emissions. The design study concept is inspired by supercar levels of performance through low weight and a high-performance, electrically driven fuel cell powertrain.

"The Honda FC Sport explores new ways to satisfy automotive performance enthusiasts in a world beyond petroleum," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "People who enjoy sports cars will not be forgotten by Honda in a hydrogen-powered future."

The high-output Honda fuel cell powertrain and a sleek, aerodynamic body contribute to the vehicle's performance potential. A modular approach to fuel cell component packaging and the electric drivetrain contribute to the FC Sport's low center of gravity with the majority of vehicle mass distributed between the axles, creating the balanced weight distribution sought after in sports cars.

The ideal placement of the Honda V-Flow fuel cell stack and related components demonstrates the benefits of a platform-specific, hydrogen-powered fuel cell powertrain. The FC Sport is configured to accommodate a custom-formed high-power fuel cell stack, located between the rear seats, and a battery pack placed low in the middle of the vehicle. The electric motor resides just forward of the rear axle. Two fuel storage tanks, visible from above, are located above the rear axle.

The optimal placement of fuel cell components for performance also allows for a relatively large passenger cabin by conventional supercar standards with enough space for three seating positions. The interior layout focuses primarily on the driver with a racecar-like center driving position. The enclosed canopy opens upward from the rear to allow for entry and exit. Two rear passenger seats flank the driver's left and right side.

The sleek, low-profile body is designed to convey a high-technology appearance with sculpting that combines angular shapes in the front of the vehicle that taper into geometric, hex forms in the rear. The rear hex forms house cooling radiators for the fuel cell. Formula 1-style barge boards behind the front wheels enhance high speed aerodynamics and convey the vehicle's racing pedigree. The hydrogen storage tanks, visible from the rear deck, showcase the FC Sports fuel cell technology in much the same way that a "naked bike" motorcycle showcases its engineering technology.

The glacier white body color conveys the FC Sport's clean environmental aspirations while the dark wheels and deeply tinted glass provide a symbolic contrast befitting of the vehicle's unique combination of clean power and high performance. Green construction techniques further contribute to a reduced carbon footprint. An organic, bio-structure theme is carried through to the body construction where exterior panels are intended to use plant-derived bio-plastics.

The Advanced Design Studio of Honda R&D Americas in Pasadena, California, developed the FC Sport design study vehicle with the primary objective of using existing fuel cell technology as the basis for an ultimate Honda sports car. Designer Jason Wilbur led the design efforts.

Honda Canada manufactures the Honda Civic and Civic Si sedan and coupe, and the Acura CSX sedan and MDX luxury utility vehicle at its two plants in Alliston, Ontario, and produces fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines at its new engine plant adjacent to its Canadian manufacturing facilities. With 135 manufacturing facilities in 28 countries worldwide, Honda attracts more than 24 million customers annually.

HONDA IS NAMED AS CANADA'S BEST 'MAINSTREAM BRAND' FOR RESIDUAL VALUE

Honda Canada Inc. received top honours from ALG as the winner of the "Mainstream Brand Residual Value Award"
as part of ALG's Canadian Residual Value Awards that honour vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional retail lease.

Honda was ranked the best overall brand out of 19 mainstream automotive brands in Canada. Acura, the luxury division of Honda Canada Inc., received a second-place award in the Luxury Brand Residual Value category, placing ahead of 11 other luxury brand competitors.

The awards are based on 2009 model year vehicles. The awards are derived after carefully studying segment competition, historical vehicle performance and industry trends, and are based on analysis using only Canada-specific data. ALG, based in Santa Barbara, California, provides data and consulting services to the automotive industry and publishes the "Automotive Lease Guide" in both Canada and the U.S.

In addition to winning the overall Mainstream Brand Residual Value Award, Honda Canada also received individual segment awards for the Honda Odyssey (Minivan segment); the new Honda Fit (Entry Compact Car); and the Honda Ridgeline (Compact/Midsize Pickup Truck).

"We are very excited to announce the inaugural Canadian Residual Value Awards," said John Blair, Chief Executive Officer of ALG. "Honda clearly set itself apart by winning the overall Mainstream award and three segment awards. Honda benefits from its disciplined production, consistent high quality and value pricing, and its shift to more fuel-efficient vehicles has also helped the brand.

"We firmly believe that Residual Value is the best metric for evaluating the overall strength of an automotive brand, and congratulate all of the winners for their successful products and marketing strategies."
